What is CostCrunch?

A quick tour of what CostCrunch does with your supplier invoices.

Updated October 29, 2026

CostCrunch reads every invoice, quote, and statement your suppliers send you, pulls out every line item, and checks each price against what you usually pay and what other companies pay for the same thing. It's built for contractors: plumbers, electricians, framers, GCs, and anyone else buying materials from a lot of suppliers.

What CostCrunch does for you

  • Captures your documents. Upload files, forward emails, or connect Gmail. CostCrunch reads PDFs, photos, spreadsheets, and more, and splits bundled PDFs into separate invoices.
  • Extracts every line. Supplier, date, totals, shipping address, and each line item with its quantity, unit, and price.
  • Checks your prices. Each line gets a price insight: a good price, or how much you overpaid and compared to what. See How price checks work.
  • Organizes spend. Documents are grouped by project (based on the shipping address) and by supplier, and every product lands in your Catalog with its price history.
  • Compares quotes. Put bids side by side and hold invoices to what you were quoted. See Compare quotes.
  • Syncs to accounting. Approved invoices export to QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop as bills. See Connect QuickBooks Online.

Where to start

  1. Create your account
  2. Upload your first documents
  3. Set up email forwarding so new invoices arrive on their own
  4. Review and approve an invoice
