Upload documents

Add invoices, quotes, and statements from your computer, including ZIP files.

Updated October 29, 2026

  1. Click Upload at the top of the sidebar.
  2. Drag files into the Upload Documents window, or click to browse.
  3. Close the window. Your files show up in Documents with a progress bar while they're processed.

You don't need to tell CostCrunch what kind of document each file is. It works out whether it's an invoice, quote, statement, credit, or something else.

Supported files

PDF, JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP, Excel (XLSX, XLS), CSV, Word (DOCX, DOC), TXT, HTML, XML, JSON, and ZIP. Use a ZIP to upload a big batch of past invoices at once.

Good to know

  • One PDF with many invoices? Upload it as is. Bundled PDFs are split into separate invoices automatically.
  • Photos work, but a flat, well-lit shot of the whole page gives the best results.
  • "This invoice already exists" means that exact file was uploaded before. See Duplicates.
  • If you see "Your trial has ended" or "Uploads are paused for this account", see Plans and your free trial.
