What happens after you upload

How long processing takes, and what Failed or Skipped means.

Updated October 29, 2026

After a document arrives, CostCrunch reads it, extracts the header and every line item, and checks prices. A progress bar shows in Documents while this runs. Most documents take a minute or two; big batches take longer.

Statuses you might see

  • Progress bar: still being processed. You can keep working.
  • Failed: we couldn't read the document. Open it and use ⋯ → Reprocess Invoice to try again. If it fails again, use ⋯ → Report a Problem.
  • Skipped - Duplicate detected: the same document was already processed. See Duplicates.

Reprocessing

If an invoice came through with wrong or missing data, you can rerun it:

  • One document: open it and choose ⋯ → Reprocess Invoice.
  • Several: select them in the list and click Reprocess N selected.

Reprocessing re-reads the original file. Edits you made by hand to that document may be replaced.
