Duplicates
How CostCrunch spots duplicate invoices and what to do about them.
Updated October 29, 2026
Suppliers often send the same invoice more than once, or a teammate uploads one that already came in by email. CostCrunch catches this two ways.
Exact duplicates
If the exact same file is uploaded again, you'll see "This invoice already exists" or the document will show Skipped - Duplicate detected. Nothing more to do: it isn't counted twice.
Possible duplicates
If two different files have the same vendor, invoice number, and total, the newer one gets a Possible duplicate tag. Open both and check. If one really is a copy, archive it so it doesn't count toward your spend.
If you see Duplicate check unavailable, the check couldn't run for that document (for example, no invoice number was found). Give it a quick look yourself.
