Export invoices to QuickBooks

Send invoices to QuickBooks as bills, by hand or automatically.

Updated October 29, 2026

Exported invoices become bills in QuickBooks, with the supplier, date, total, expense account, and (optionally) line items and the PDF attached.

Export by hand

In Documents, select the invoices and choose Export N selected → Export to Accounting.

Export automatically

In Settings → Accounting → Export behavior, turn on:

  • Export on approval: an invoice exports as soon as someone clicks Approve.
  • Export new invoices: invoices export as soon as they're processed, as long as the vendor and customer are already matched.

See Export settings for everything else you can control.

Track exports

The Accounting page shows:

  • Waiting to export, Exported this month, and Failed exports
  • A Needs attention list of anything blocking an export
  • The Exports tab, with each invoice marked Exported or Not Exported

If something failed, see Fix export and sync problems.
