Total mismatch warning

What it means when line items don't add up to the invoice total.

Updated October 29, 2026

A Total mismatch warning means the line items plus discount, charges, and tax don't add up to the total printed on the invoice. It shows:

  • Line items subtotal
  • Calculated total
  • Extracted total (what's printed on the invoice)
  • Difference

Common causes

  • A line was missed, or a quantity or price was read wrong. Compare against the original and edit the line.
  • Freight, fuel surcharge, or a deposit wasn't picked up as a charge.
  • The invoice itself doesn't add up. It happens, and it's worth raising with the supplier.

Once the numbers match, the warning goes away.
